Counseling is a form of Psychotherapy that is solution focused and present and future oriented. I incorporate Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (Mitchell Model), and behavioral therapy strategies including relaxation and coping skills training, assertiveness and communications skills training, and anger management skills training, among other methods.
Psychotherapy involves exploring, analyzing, and processing feelings, thoughts, and beliefs about our history and its impact today on our body, mind, spirit, relationships, and functioning. I incorporate psychodynamic, family systems, existential, and other methods and theories.
Hypnotherapy used for healing is a state of deep relaxation that allows us to focus very powerfully on whatever we choose. When we explore our feelings, beliefs, or thoughts, or hear directive suggestions about our stated goals while in this deeply relaxed state, we are able to process information, emotion, and learning more rapidly and deeply than when fully alert. I utilize transpersonal hypnotherapy techniques and methods.
Life Coaching involves an assessment of your level of life satisfaction, setting specific goals to enhance one or more areas of your life, and developing action steps to reach these goals. As your coach, I will use a variety of coaching tools to assist you in assessing, goal setting, and following through.
